Don't let chilly nights and dry air stop you from having a restful and comfortable night's sleep!
When you use CPAP, there's an increased flow of air passing through your nose and throat. Your body tries to heat and moisturise the air that passes but it may be overwhelmed by the increased airflow from your CPAP machine.

Especially during cold winter nights, it is common for patients to wake with a dry, sore throat and a congested or runny nose. Sometimes this increase in nasal congestion can even lead to higher CPAP pressures (in Autosets). Up to 65% of patients report significant side effects associated with drying of the upper airway and breathing cold air. |
| View the S9 and H5i | By keeping the inhaled air warm and moist, humidification reduces and even reverses these side effects, increasing your comfort and usage. |
So why not add some warmth and humidification this winter?
While traditional humidification systems have struggled to deliver optimal humidification as well as manage rainout (condensation in the tubing), ResMed's H5i humidifier and ClimateLine tubing combine to protect you against rainout and the dry cold of winter. The H5i and ClimateLine can be used with any S9 series device to provide you with optimal humidification and effective comfortable CPAP therapy.
For the techies among us:
Advanced precision moulding techniques have been used to embed a heating circuit in the spiral of the ClimateLine tube. The heating circuit is automatically controlled by the ClimateControl algorithm to deliver a constant, comfortable temperature at the mask which is measured by a sensor at the end of the tubing. In fact, there are five sensors that monitor multiple conditions to provide optimal humidification, automatically.
This is the first humidification system to:
It's so easy to use all year round!
To connect your H5i to your S9, simply align the two and press them together until they click.
Remove the rubber cover from the rear of the H5i. Connect the orange end of the ClimateLine tubing to the air outlet on the H5i by pushing and twisting until it clicks into place.
Each night before bed, fill the chamber with drinking water.
ClimateControl is an intelligent system that automatically adjusts the humidifier to maintain a constant and comfortable humidity level at the temperature you set. You can adjust the temperature according to your comfort. Simply, turn the temperature up if your mouth is dry. If you feel there's too much moisture inside the mask, just turn the temperature down.

To change the temperature: 1. Turn the dial until the CLIMATE CTRL screen is displayed 2. Press the dial. The screen colour will change to yellow. 3. Turn the dial again to change the temperature. 4. Press the dial to save your change. The screen colour will return to blue. |
